Southern California PlanetFest 2010: The Second Annual Vegan Earth Day Event Summer Solstice - The First Day of Summer and Day of Most Light Sunday, June 27th, 2010 11:00am to 7:00pm
IMPORTANT GLOBAL ENVIRONMENTAL, HEALTH, & FOOD FESTIVAL, "PLANET-FEST", FEATURING CELEBRITIES, SPORTS SUPERSTARS, MUSICIANS, MEDIA, MEDICAL DOCTORS, CHEFS, LOCAL CUISINE
"PLANET-FEST" is Sunday June 27th, 11am - 7pm, at Fountain Valley Recreation Center and Sports Park, 16400 Brookhurst Street at Heil in Fountain Valley, (Orange County, CA).
"PLANET-FEST" is the 2nd annual Southern California Vegan Earth Day celebration, the day when everyone on Earth is asked to Go Vegan Now to save the Earth.
A group of non-profit organizations and concerned local citizens have joined to create this free public event. "PLANET-FEST" is a musical celebration of positive action to help solve our planet's greatest challenges including climate change, deforestation, drought, soil erosion, resource depletion, desertification, habitat loss, world hunger, disease, poverty, violence, war, and animal suffering.
Spectacular speakers include NBA champion, TV sports show host, and health guru John Salley; NFL record-setting superstar Tony Gonzalez; Anteneh Roba, M.D., founder of the International Fund for Africa; Dr. Elliot Katz, founder of In Defense of Animals; Champion bodybuilder Kenneth G. Williams, "The Green One"; Author and educator Dave Warwak; Lorri Houston, founder of Animal Acres Sanctuary The event is emceed and produced by Radio Host Bob Linden.
Some of the best music on the planet will be at "PLANET-FEST". The event will feature Son-of-Haiti "King Wawa", who will also discuss the new rainy-season crisis in Haiti and efforts to bring dome shelters to the people of Haiti. Other musical guests include "Greg Cipes", "Panhead featuring Babylon Saints", and other talented world-music performers.
The urgent environmental implications of making the right food choices will be a major highlight of the event. PLANET-FEST offers attendees the opportunity to experience the delicious, nutritious cuisine that can save our planet and save our lives. Scientific estimates attribute 51% of all greenhouse gas emissions to the meat and dairy industries. Consumption of animal products like meat and dairy are responsible for the modern plagues of heart disease, cancer, stroke, diabetes, obesity, etc. Even the United Nations now advises that the best way to save the planet is for people everywhere to adopt the pure vegan vegetarian diet.
"PLANET-FEST" will also celebrate a green, sustainable planet with healthy children and happy animals by offering kids' activities and animal adoptions.Participating Orange County restaurants include Loving Hut and Greens Cafe.
